![]() ![]() Honestly the franchise in general should've been continued as a TV show back in 2006 The Meltdown had less of a coherent plot and more just felt like the writers trying to stick ideas to a wall. It’s the reason why you can sometimes find Ghostface merchandise that contains no mentions of Scream. It’s was actually licensed from Fun World, the designers for the original costume. While not completely the same, the character of Ghostface isn’t actually owned by the makers of the Scream movies. It doesn’t even count projects like Faction Paradox that started as official canon, but later transitioned to remove all overt references to Doctor Who. In fact, the Tardis wiki has a page dedicated to all the Doctor Who characters and concepts not officially owned by the BBC. Fortunately they were, and the episode was fittingly reworked into ‘Dalek’. It was to the point where the 2005 revival once had an episode establishing an alien species that was said to have once wiped out the Daleks, in case they weren’t able to obtain the rights to use them from Terry Nation’s estate. Most notably, Terry Nation was able to maintain ownership of the Daleks and make his own stories with them independent of the main Doctor Who canon. It happened all the time with Doctor Who.
